True Blood Party Recap

True Blood Party - Deliciously Darling Events

“I wanna do bad things with you!”. Hands down, True Blood is one of my faviroate shows! What’s not to love? Vampires, Warewolves, Witches, Fairies with a Southern Flair. I decided to have my close friends over to celebrate my birthday Bon Temps style. When it came to the food, it no cooking was definatley the way to go. I wanted to have time to enjoy the party with my sweet friends instead of worry about how the food was going to turn out. Since food trucks are all the rage in Atlanta and the rest of the country, I knew that the Good Food Truck would be perfect!

Seriously, look at that truck! Not only is it red {which is one of the colors of the party} but their logo is beyond cute. Seriously cute!!! The Good Food truck rocked the food. Hands down the yummest food truck I’ve had a chance to taste. My guests dined on The Poodle (a hotdog or soydog with apple topping, spicy brown mustard & maple syrup on a french toast bun), The Curry Cone & a Chutney grilled cheese. YUM!!! So I started at the Chutney grilled cheese and worked my way up to The Poodle. I absolutley LOVED it and my guests were in food truck heaven. The Poodle, hands down, is the best thing I’ve tasted in a long time!

Of Course, I had to jazz up the food truck with a little Bon Temps style. I made a little chalkboard food sign out of a Target Halloween platter & chalkboard spray paint. It was easy peasy and looks fang-tastic!!! The cutlery, from the Sucre Shop, is the cutest thing ever. I love stamped wooden cutlery. It’s SUCH a cute way to dress up your party because you can match them to your theme. In this case, I had beautiful little black chevron bags (from Waiting on Martha) so the Sucre shop created these beautiful red chevron forks & knives. Add a little paint (aka blood) to the mini black chevron bags and a Vampire printable from Frog Prince Paperie and there ya go! It’s a cute little way to serve your cutlery.

HUGE shout out to Paula from Frog Prince Paperie. I just have to say how much I heart her & her company. She is an incredible talented designer & stylist. Her designs are unique and just simply stunning. She crafts, styles & designs – triple talented! I’ve been wanting to work with Paula for a while and was so thrilled when she was able to squeeze me into her schedule to create the Southern Vampire / True Blood inspired printable collection! I wanted a little Bill Compton mixed with a little Vampire Authority & Merlottes action. She totally nailed it (or in this case “staked” it). So get your hands on her printable collection and try to have your own True Blood inspired party this Halloween.

I just have to say, I feel so lucky to have become such good friends with Mandy from Waiting on Martha. I love having a creative & amazing party girl as a friend. She is mega talented, driven, style personified & has beautiful little party & sparkly items in her shop. I feel really fortunate she sends such pretty items over for shoots & parties. If you haven’t visited her shop – hop over. She is dazzling.

Okay – back to the party details!!! After dinner, my guests moved inside and hung out at Merlottes Bar & Grill. Okay maybe it’s not Merlottes but I dressed up our bar (yes, we have a full size bar in our house) to look like it.

We stocked  the bar with fall beers, red wine, Gran’s lemonade, viking glamour shots, bloodtini’s and True Blood!  My favorite thing was the Viking glamour shots. I used strawberry jello with whipped cream vodka – wowsa, it was delicious.

No True Blood party would be complete without serving an actual drink with True Blood. The True Blood drink is almost like a blood red orange soda so we paired it with a little black tinted vodka.

I am a huge candy addict so I made a little mini candy table for my sweet guests. A garland with bloody glittered stakes hung over my small little candy display. Each guest went home with the Blood of Lilith, aka cherry jelly bellies in a test tube, bloody lollipops (by Vintage Confections), a little bit of Talbot and some fangs.

I giggle every time I see the “Hello my name is Talbot” picture. If you are a True Blood watcher, you will totally understand the reference. I just love the printable collection by Frog Prince Paperie! It’s genius and I just love it.

How amazing are these lollipops by Vintage Confections!? They were cotton candy flavored with a little bloody bone inside. Just perfect and delicious. I just had to include on more picture of the amazing chevron scoops from Sucre Shop. I love them!!!
